Best Inflatable Two-Person Kayaks For 2025 | Your Tandem Guide!

Among all my kayaking rides, the most special ones were those where I had someone to accompany me.

It’s always good to steer around with your significant other, a friend, or a relative.

Best Two Person Kayaks That Are Inflatable

If you’re looking for an inflatable kayak, these are some of the best two-person inflatable kayaks.

Here’s the full review of each packable to help you make an informed decision.

Nyce Haul

This two-person inflatable kayak is well constructed, and its design elements caught my eye. It’s fun and comfortable to hit rapids or float a lazy river in this kayak.

The drop-stitch floor is my absolute favorite part that provides a sturdy platform to stand up and cast fly. I must say the outfitting is well thought.

The floor of the Nyce Haul is also self-bailing, meaning any whitewater that splashes into the kayak drains out through ports running along the edge of the floor.

Nyce Haul contains a rudder system that can be used as a makeshift camp pad Ready to load up for river trips tandem or solo.

AIRE Tributary Tomcat Tandem

AIRE Tributary Tomcat Tandem is a classic design with a strong build. The torpedo shape with a rock nose remains stable over rapids.

The Tomcat II has comfortable backrest to lean against, it drains even a bit of water with its self-bailing mesh ports. I was surprised with how it fit in the back of my car besides having more than enough room for gear.

AIRE uses a unique construction that goes well with running rivers. Though the outer shell PVC is tough, a pop can happen on whitewater. If you encounter such incident, you can remove a vinyl chamber and simply throw on a patch and you’re good to go.

The Tomcat’s 500-pound capacity and interior area provide plenty of space as a tandem kayak, along with room in the stern for a gear bag.

Advanced Elements AdvancedFrame Convertible Elite

The construction of this two-person inflatable kayak goes beyond rubber air bladders. It’s stable enough to handle even rough and choppy water.

A pair of aluminum ribs are inserted at the bow and stern to provide a stiff, peaked shape. This helps the bow to efficiently cut through the water instead of just slapping at it.

The drop-stitch floor of the Convertible kayak provides rigidity to the hull for efficient gliding across the water. It can have an edge transition, which is a rarity for an inflatable paddle craft.

Alpacka Tango

Alpacka Tango is one of the most lightweight inflatable kayaks you’ll find, and I personally found their Tango tandem a creative option among other inflatables.

These kayaks are made extremely lightweight and are just 13 pounds. But be noted that it is by no means a fragile tandem inflatable. Alpacka uses 210-denier nylon on the tubes, and a 840-denier ballistic nylon floor to maximize durability.

Tango rides over minor waves smoothly, good for paddling across a small lake or mild rapids. As the floor is not self-bailing, I wouldn’t recommend it on anything over class II.

Because of its flat hull design it doesn’t have the best tracking ability either, and so wouldn’t be my first choice to cross an open waterway. The interior cockpit feels a little cramped, which is expected of such a lightweight kind of kayak.

Kokopelli Twain

If you are looking for portability, Twain is extremely lightweight 2 person kayak that is easy to set up, deflate and pack away. It took less than 10 minutes to set up.

Kokopelli is fun to paddle on moving water like river, but can be counterproductive on flatwater because it leads to corrections with each paddle stroke.

It has a very flat hull which lets it spin easily to change direction. It contains a removable center fin under the stern that fin provides better tracking to help you draw straighter lines in your course of travel.

The Twain doesn’t have a self-bailing floor however, which limits the size of the rapids it would be suited for. And, with the short interior cockpit, space can be felt shorter for two paddlers and wouldn’t accommodate much camping gear.

BOTE Zeppelin Aero 12’6”

It offers two-person-inflatable fishing kayak, it is easy to roll upon packing. the keeled bow and removable fin on the stern help the Zeppelin travel straight lines across open types of waterways favored for fishing.

And since it’s a tandem, you can have your paddling partner back you away from overhanging mangroves or hold you steady near the mouth of that irresistible channel.

What I really enjoy about BOTE’s design is the high-rise inflated seats that provide an elevated casting position, and if that’s not enough, the drop-stitch floor can be blown up to 15 PSI, providing a solid platform to stand and sight cast.

Hobie Mirage iTrek 14 Duo

This tandem fishing kayak with a trolling motor is well regarded among those who love kayak fishing.

Saying so eases the tension as you don’t have to have a paddle in one hand and a rod in the other. You have your hands free to fully focus on what you really hit the water to do.

iTrek is a light weight pedal drive kayak weighs just 45 pounds. Paddleboard like deck provides a stable casting platform. With this tandem, coastal bays and flats or open lakes are your primary fishing spots.

Sea Eagle 370

If you’re looking for a cheap two-person inflatable kayak, there are two models that provide the best possible value for your dollar. i.e., Intex Explorer K2 and the Sea Eagle 370.

Though the Intex Explorer is a bit cheaper than Sea Eagle, I’d suggest you to spend few more bucks and get an inflatable tandem that is Sea Eagle.

The Sea Eagle provides screw-in one-way air valves on every chamber of the kayak, while the Explorer has small pool float style valves to blow up by mouth on the floor and seats.
